Emilio Franzina (has taught history of the Risorgimento and contemporary history at the Universities of Padua and Verona. A scholar of social and cultural history of the 19th and 20th centuries, he has worked on the history of the Veneto region, popular writings and migration abroad) and Giorgio Sala (former mayor of Vicenza) tell the story of those years.
